day20 - premium camping on isola san antioco

After a very very windy night here at the lighthouse I decided to head back to carloforte …. as I didn't unpack or mount any camping gear here it was a fast jumpstart on the road again. And arrived in carloforte half an hour later to have a proper breakfeast with cornettos , succo d arrancia spremuta and a cappuccino at a nice port Ristorante.

At 09:40 the ferry to Calasetta departed and it was just a 20 minute ride ….

Camping Tonnara was my next target … in the south of the island. I drove once more nice small roads this time through the countryside which was also very beautiful … very narrow road in the end but doable … and arrived 1 hour later at the campsite

This was a very well organized and quite luxurious campsite … it had even sun shades on every spot … and I took even a premium spot with sea view for 32EUR per night … and planned to stay for 2 nights….

Put my van into position and unpacked all my equipment and had a cold beer afterwards. It was quite crowded in the first seaview lane this day (Sunday) and soon I also got some T4 as neighbour. And later on my body again cried for meat 😳 and I remembered a place which I passed shortly before the campsite and which was even mentioned in my travel book … a restaurant led by an Austrian guy called Fritz at the the beach ! I took my bike and drove down the hill and after 1km I already saw an Austrian and European flag standing out … haha that must be it .. and entered the yet empty restaurant where Fritz greeted me with a vienna style “Griass Di!”

And grilled a tasty beefsteak with tomatoe and onion salad together with a birra grande …. AWESOME protein bomb !!! After some further chat with Fritz I headed back to the campsite to go for a swim at the private beach there …

Beautiful crystal clear water and a good refreshment as it was still not very warm ! And afterwards a nice honey melon and I was done for the day 🥰
