day2 - crossing the swiss alps

It started with a chilled night in feldkirch at my mothers place. Had lots of fleischlaberl in the evening and slept not very well because of too much food :-) … but nevertheless it was a real bed …. started my day with a covid-19 test and a breakfeast at one of my friends in feldkirch (keili)

After buying some towels and martini bottles I started my daily trip towards lake como. At theh swiss border I had to take a forced break because they wanted to inspect my van in detail …. lol … looks like i am looking suspicious …. bearded with a pink “haube” … but it turned out to be a nice conversation with the border stuff … and they did not find anything harmful…

So I continued my ride over the (40EUR jahresvignette) swiss highway towards Chur / Thusis and started my descent to the swiss alps and the Julierpass … which i reached without any troubles at an altitude of 2.300 meters

It was freezingly cold up there so I did not stop for very long and continued to drive towards the italian border in Castasegna. With a short pee-break in between a horde of Swiss cows I continued the very curvy roads of the Maloja pass and soon reached Castasegna.

There the crossing was totally chilled … they did not ask for any of the papers I had to prepare (test, dPLF form etc) and I had a first cappuccino in Chiavella. And continued my trip along the Lake Como towards Lecco where I found a nice campsite directly at the lake.
