day13 - break at sinis peninsula
Good morning from the internet free zone. Time to drive (with bike) to the bar (free WiFi) and drink a coffe and eat a Cornetto con chocolate … and look at the (is it oleander) beautiful plants :-)
But even better than that (it was 08:00 in the morning) the beaches have been totally quit and empty. Such an amazing perspective …
I did not go for a swim (and I actually have no clue why I did not ;-) and headed back to my spot. Time to start the usual routine with mounting and packing everything together. Finished after 30 minutes of concentrated work and started the engine to drive back the 1km long dusty road to the Check-out reception. A very old guy was sitting there inspecting my plate, looking in his lists and finally waved me through (I already prepaid yesterday :-)
So on the road again ! First towards Bosa which was 10km from the campsite … and it became already so hot that I decided to head straight to the marina to get a morning swim …
After that refreshment I programmed Google maps with the campsite Is Aruttas on the Sinis peninsula. And again was confronted with beautiful roads on the coast and in the inner land. After 2 hours of driving I nearly arrived but Google maps decided to send me through a 5 km shortcut with a really bad (it was not even a road) and dusty path. Very bumpy ride and I had to be careful to not end up in one of those big holes … lol … ok but managed to get through and ended up at the campsite.
Quick check-in and free lookup for a good spot … I just drove around 2 corners and found the ideal ace between some trees and bushes….
Perfectly ready for a full mounting of all gear and camping stuff including hammock …
Chilling until the first soccer EM Match started … and waiting for the Austria against north mazedonia game … I actually wanted to watch it in the local bar but the Italians / Rai did NOT transmit this match !!! WTF !!! So I had to improvise and build up a setting in my van which worked decently well … just some streaming hickups but better than nothing !!
And belief it or not - Austria won 3:1 !!! awesome !!! first time in history …
After the match I explored the surroundings with my bike and found the special white pebbles beach just around the corner 5 minutes away … And enjoyed a decent sunset ….
